When Choosing A PC Desktop Is A Better Option

by Terri Moss

Computers are a part of our daily lives, and we use them for a wide range of applications. Whether it is for work, school, or just shopping in our free time, computers are the tool we naturally turn to, and, as time goes by, new developments and advancements continue to create new ways to use them.

A computer is as personal to its user as purchasing a vehicle. Do you prefer a laptop or a PC desktop? What features do you need your computer to include? Laptops have the advantage when it comes to portability, but desktop computers have many benefits not found in a laptop.

For starters, PC desktops are usually more reliable than laptops because they have been around longer. Also making components small and compact to fit into a laptop is harder to do while still maintaining functionality. These smaller components often cause problems that aren't associated with the larger components of a desktop computer.

Next, there is no real limit to the amount of work you can do on PC desktops. If you need to work all through the night, it can be done. A laptop, on the other hand, isn't really made for that kind of use and can overheat. And that could lead to system crashes or sending the computer in to be fixed instead of getting your work done.

If you need to hook up additional hardware to the computer, PC desktops are capable of easily synchronizing all the information with its CPU, hard drive, and memory. Extra hardware can, of course, be connected to a laptop, but too many peripherals can start to tax the processor too much, once again causing the system to have some troubles.

With the added slots for new components and memory cards that PC desktops come equipped with, it is easier to upgrade a PC. Two hard drives can work as one by using RAID configuration and controller, or with the addition of high end sound and video cards a desktop computer becomes a great gaming system. With lower functionality, laptops are not this easy to customize.

Lastly, you can customize your computer by using a different system tower on it. You can use a black tower or those that have colorful LED lights on it. This will definitely make your desktop look customized and will fit your personality.

These are only a few of the benefits of PC desktops. When you choose these computers you will have a reliable system that can be upgraded and maintained for years to come.
