Hackers Can Send A Virus To A Computer and Cause Major Disruption

In a world revolves around cyberspace communications there is bound to be some bad things happen as well as all of the good they do to help people communicate, shop, and work. Those things only scratch the surface to what a computer can do. If your really think about it, almost everything is done by computer these days.

There is a remote that can control your phone service, television service, and your own personal computer service as well. Your car may even run by a computer system. The old ones don't, but they will be obsolete eventually and no longer used.

Hackers enjoy uploading viruses to computers. They enjoy having the power to complicate a person's computer. Some other types of hackers are more vicious and can try to control something of great importance to everyone. For instance, the events recently in South Korea where a virus was uploaded to a mainframe and infected government computers, banking computers and shopping as well. It caused some problems that could have been very serious if there was not someone watching end the virus' effects.

This leaves doors open for someone to invade computers. It is done on a daily basis around the world. A computer virus can be sent to people through email, downloaded programs and software and an arena of many other ways. When a virus is opened in a computer, it can cause all kinds of havoc.

Direct action viruses will start infecting a computer when it is booted up. It gets in the system and replicates itself causing all kinds of mayhem from the root directory of the hard disk. A DDoS, or Directory of Service Virus was unleashed in South Korea and caused all kinds of chaos in which many computers tried to gain access to one particular site and caused it to slow down immensely by overwhelming its server.

Some are so bad that they can delete all of the information on a hard drive. It is really important not to open email attachments from people you don't know. Sometimes, the more clever hacker will find a way to send emails from people you know, so you will open it.

Banking systems, government systems and transportation systems would be primary targets for cyber-terrorists who want to cripple an economy or cause mass confusion which gives them a chance to move in on a target. The beginning of such chaos could begin with something as simple as a virus.

Most major countries who are very technology savvy are working very hard to stay ahead of the hackers who send viruses through the Internet to any destination. There are cyber-specialist that watch for viral infections on the Internet regularly.
