One of the greatest innovations of the 20th century and beyond has been computers. We have seen them in the last 50 years transition from the bulky equipment that used to occupy huge research facilities to the smaller desktops that we see today. Personal computers have actually become a way of life not just for offices but for homes as well.
One reason is because they are convenient. Before laptops became the norm, personal computing used to confined to home desktop computers and one had to wait until they get to their office or home to complete computer tasks. But now one can carry their work with them and complete it even as they travel. This has made it possible for work to be completed faster and in a more professional way.
Laptop popularity has also been spiked by the fact that they have become media centers other than just workstations. This means that other than being used for official and business tasks, laptops are being used more and more for entertainment. People, who on the road now prefer to watch high resolution DVDs, listen to music and even share and edit their files using laptops. This has also resulted in laptop buyer market becoming younger.
To cater to this market of young hip laptop users and consumers, many laptop companies have become more innovative. Colored laptops have been the result. Laptop buyers, no longer have to agree to the old generic colors which were mostly black and grey. There is now a wide choice. So where can one buy a colored laptop?
Laptop builders have began to cater to a market that is increasingly exotic. That is why companies like Dell have already began allowing buyers to customize their purchases right from their site. Other companies such as Alienware also allow buyers to specify how they want their laptops to look like. While requesting buyers to specify what additional features they want is not an entirely new concept (Dell has been extending that privilege to its customers for a few years now)the ability to customize even the color is a new concept especially when it comes to laptops.
The colored laptop market has become increasingly flexible with many companies allowing their buyers to customize their purchases right from their websites. This has resulted in buyers being able to select from different colors other than just a few. Many other manufacturers accommodate orders for colored laptops. While the concept of customization is not entirely as new as we would imagine, ordering computers with different color schemes is a new concept. Different users of laptops have different preferences and these can extend to color. Color even speaks of personality and we can see this especially in ladies who gravitate towards all things pink. Cell phone manufactures awoke to this fact and have been producing color- specific phones for years but now laptop makers have also switched their mode and recognized that color preferences do matter.
