Other than MP3s, the screeching sound of slot-loading optical drive is very audible. As this problem always involves the hard disk, its quite a big turn off.

In totality, we can say that Dells XPS M1530 is good but not enough. With its downside on noisy hard drives and limited options for screen optimization, it could fall to second-best to its counterparts within the price of $1089.
