The Computer Enhances Company Productivity

by Kazu Oda

Networking has become one of the most important aspects of running a business efficiently. Networking is when a set of computers within a company have been linked up to share ideas and other information. This enables data to be dispersed promptly so that it can be reviewed by everyone within a company.

Digital photography is sweeping the photography nation by being able to upload pictures directly from their camera to their computer. There is no longer a need for cameras that use film with the new technology that is now on the market.

There are many positions within certain companies that allow individuals to work from the comfort of their home. This would not be achieved without the use of a computer.

Programs such as AutoCAD are being used to design practically anything you can imagine. Projects can be made in 2D or 3D with the use of AutoCAD. The designer can see exactly what their final project will look like. This is especially vital for designers so that their clients are able to see their work before it is created. Using this program will increase efficiency by reducing the amount of time it takes to draft a project.

Animation is another field that has now become on a computer. Workstation computers that are more powerful are used by professional animators or technical directors. PC's are used more commonly for animation that takes less time to render.

Tasks that are done on an everyday basis can be done through software that will ensure correct data every time. This gives customers the peace of mind that their business is in good hands. If a customer has an order they can rest easy knowing that it will be filled correctly and in a timely manner.

Customer information can be stored and updated through company software. This ensures that a business will focus on the customers needs based on their profile. Businesses are able to expand because of the ability to keep track of more information as well as a larger client base.

Paperwork is reduced and less training is needed because software is already programmed to do an efficient job. A business will be more productive by using programs that will ensure customer satisfaction and allow employees to use their time more wisely. The computer is what gives companies the tools needed to spend more time focused on the consumer, and they are the ones who ultimately keep a company in business.

How to Buy a Cheap Laptop

by Craig Stephenson

Buying laptops on the cheap is half art and half mathematics. Dont confuse cheap laptops with low quality, but rather associate them with a good bargain. So the question becomes: It is important to remember not to sacrifice quality or functionality for the sake of price.

Being clear from the outset about which you features you definitely need for your laptop and which features you may want, but could do without will save you a great deal of time and will give you a good idea about the general price range you can expect to be looking at for the features you desire.

Do not pass up expandability for a discounted price today. Do this by ensuring that laptops with 2 gigabytes of RAM are expandable to 4 or even 8 gigabytes of RAM in the future, or that the DVD reader/CD burner can be swapped out for a Blu-Ray burner down the road.

When looking for a cheap laptop I would advise settling for adequate technology rather than paying for the latest, most up-to-date technology. The highest prices are charged purely because of the demand and desirability of new products. However, if you do not need the latest laptop then save money and buy an older specification.

Some laptop components such as CPUs and video cards generally cannot be upgraded except for the very highest quality laptops from top tier vendors. The hardware that can be upgraded on a cheap laptop is typically limited to the hard drive(s), memory, and optical disc drive(s).

For those who use their laptops for gaming, rather than paying the price for the most current chipset it may be worth settling for a previous generations technology that will still meet your gaming needs. For serious gamers, a desktop may be a better choice due to the more power desktops can provide.

It may come as a surprise to learn that you do not have to go with an unknown brand to get a cheap laptop. It is possible to get cheap, customised laptops online from well known manufacturers. In order to clear stock, many manufacturers sell old, discounted laptops cheaply with full warranties.

When shopping for cheap laptops it pays to remember: the easiest way to wind up looking at a selection of laptops that are too expensive is to not honestly evaluate ones needs appropriately. The flip side of that is that underestimating ones computing needs will typically result in a selection of unattractive, cheap laptops that live up to their cheap designation in the most negative sense of the word.

Pick The Best Laptop Computer – And Get The Best Price, Too!

by Bob Randalph

After deciding to buy a laptop computer, the worst thing you can do is go straight to a store and start shopping. Many people look for sale prices and purchase the cheapest they can find, but again this will be a mistake. If you want to pick the best and get a great deal, a different strategy is needed.

You will always come away with a better computer at a much better price if you slow down and don't rush into a purchase. Actually, you want to leave price out of your mind completely in the beginning.

Despite your familiarity with the computer market or how much you think you know, your first step is to use the internet for market research. You want to know what is being offered, what the newest features are, and how well different features or brands tend to work.

Consumer and professional reviews should be a part of your research. After you are familiar with what is being offered in the market use these reviews to determine whether different features really perform well or not. Consumers are the most helpful as they have already tried the product out at home and will give their firsthand opinions.

Your goal at this stage is to rule out the best performing models from all the rest. Price is not a concern at all, so even those way out of your price range may really catch your attention.

Make sure you are also considering the newest addition to the market: the mini laptop. They are more compact and may be better suited to your needs.

At this point you will have at least a couple specific computers that you are really interested in, and it's time to start thinking about the price tags. Even really expensive models can usually be found at reasonable sale prices if you put in some effort looking for the deals.

You will eventually get a really great deal on your ideal computer if you look both online and through local stores. Many stores have great sales on select models and there are online retailers that have knockout prices every day. You have to know what that computer typically retails for and spot a hot deal when it crosses your path.

If you are running out of time and need to make a purchase but can't find your top pick within your budget, it may be time to go to one that is comparable but maybe a notch down from your ideal.

Finally, do not assume that stores known for offering the best prices are going to have the best price on the specific laptop computer you want. If you make this assumption you are likely to find yourself quite shocked when you see it at a much lower price in another store or online. If you want the best deal take the time to shop around.

How To Permanently Remove Trojan Horse From Your Computer

by Ferdinand Emy

We have all found the term Trojan Horse, just what precisely is it? A Trojan Horse is a destructive program that masks as a innocuous application. Different from viruses, Trojan Horses do not replicate themselves, but they can be just as damaging. One of the most acute instances of a Trojan is a program that promises to rid your computer of viruses but rather sticks in viruses into your computer.

The Trojan can be crafty. Who has not been online and had an advert pop up claiming to be able to free your computer of some awful virus? Or, even more awful, you receive an email that claims to be alerting you to a novel virus that can threaten your computer. The transmitter promises to rapidly extirpate, or protect, your computer from viruses if you only download their free, attached software into your computer. You may be wary but the software appears legitimate and the company sounds reputable. You carry on to take them up on their offer and download the software. By doing so, you have just potentially unprotected yourself to a deep headache and your computer to a laundry list of ailments.

When a Trojan is active, numerous things can take place. Some Trojans are more irritating than malicious. Some of the less bothersome Trojans may choose to change your desktop settings or add stupid desktop icons. The more grave Trojans can score out or overwrite data on your computer, corrupt files, spread other malware such as viruses, spy on the user of a computer and secretly report data like browsing habits to other people, log keystrokes to steal information such as passwords and credit card numbers, phish for bank account details (which can be employed for criminal activities), and even install a backdoor into your computer system so that they can come and go as they desire.

To step-up your odds of not encountering a Trojan, follow these guidelines.

1.Remain forbearing Trojans can infect your computer through rogue websites, instant messaging, and emails with attachments. do not download anything into your computer except you are one hundred percent sure of its sender or source. 2.Make sure that your operating system is always up-to-date. If you are running a Microsoft Windows operating system, this is required. 3.Install reliable anti-virus software. It's also important that you download any updates constantly to catch all new Trojan Horses, viruses, and worms. Make sure that the anti-virus program that you select can also scan e-mails and files downloaded through the internet. 4.Think of installing a firewall. A firewall is a system that forbids unauthorized use and admittance to your computer. A firewall is not going to get rid of your computer virus problems, but when employed in conjunction with regular operating system updates and reliable anti-virus software, it can provide complementary security and protection for your computer.

Nothing can guarantee the security of your computer one hundred percent. All The Same, you can keep improving your computer's security and diminish the possibility of infection by consistently following this road map.

The Differences Between Laptops and Desktops

by Don McCullen

The desktop and laptop markets have different benefits to offer consumers, and by taking the time to analyze some of the differences between these two types of computers, a user can be assured that they have the computer that can cover all their individual needs.

The first difference to note between the two is size. Laptops were meant to be used either on the road or in the office. But a desktop computer was meant to be in a more permanent location. They are much larger and heavier than laptops.

Nevertheless, both laptops and desktop computers offer different advantages. The laptop offers convenience and portability - something that desktops can't compete with. A laptop computer can give a user access to the Internet almost anywhere there is wireless connectivity, and, despite their small size, can offer processors and graphics on par with very powerful desktops.

But a desktop computer also has its advantages. One of these is the ability to customize and upgrade it. Most laptops are quite hard to upgrade, and so most users opt to just buy a new computer when that time comes. But with a desktop a user can easily change out different components as needed rather than buy a whole new computer.

Another key difference between the two is cost. Generally, desktop PCs are much less expensive than their laptop counterparts. Also, because of their modular and customizable nature it is easier to get the exact specifications you want with a desktop.

In the end though, it really comes down to an individual user's needs. Desktops can help save money and last longer, but laptops save space and can be mobile. Look at your own unique situation to make the decision of which type of computer would be right for you.

Netbooks Growing In Popularity

by Roberto Alberto Salazar

Take a look around you, how many people are equipped with a Netbook? Ill bet its quite a few if you are in an office, on campus, on a bus, a train, or plane. You can clearly see that netbooks are coming out of nowhere to become a very popular choice for many individuals.

These mini computers are becoming very popular, but why? What makes a netbook different from a regular laptop?

A netbook is a mini laptop. They usually have screens of about 10 inches or less, they run on the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system, and they usually sell for around $400 or less. The number one use of a netbook is to keep its owner connected to the internet and their work or school. They can do this wherever and whenever they need to access the internet. It is a really cool idea.

These little netbooks came to market about a year and a half ago. They are changing the way that laptops are viewed and actually, netbooks are the fastest growing segment of the laptop industry. It is fully expected to reach around 141 million units sold before the beginning of 2013. Thats awesome!

To be completely honest, I see two huge reasons why the netbook industry is growing like crazy. They are a good solution for college students and for individuals who travel a lot for their work. Lets take a minute to discuss why these are so great for these two groups of people.

Size

Netbooks are very small and compact. Their display is at the very most, 10 inches. Not only are the super small but they are super light as well. They probably weigh anywhere from 1-3 pounds. They are also super compact so they are perfect for students carrying them around in a backpack, or for a businessman or woman to carry onto a plane.

Portability

As stated in the last paragraph, they are super compact, so they are easily portable from place to place.

Sturdiness

Some people think that because these machines are so small that they are a piece of junk. That is simply not true! They are designed to be extra sturdy and tough. They can easily handle hard knocks and even a drop or two and they will still be working fine.

Battery Life

Because netbooks are so much smaller than a regular laptop, you will get much more juice out of your battery. Face it; no one wants to be dragging a power cord around with them. They need a portable computer that can stay charged for a long time.

The Price

The number one reason why netbooks are so popular and make the perfect laptop for a student or businessperson is because they are very affordable. Yes, students are on a budget, so this makes it a perfect solution for them. Many times, employees have a desktop and laptop at their office. Netbooks are so cheap that they can afford one of them just for travel. As I stated earlier, for less than $400 you can pick up a nice little netbook.

As you can clearly see, a netbook is an amazing choice when selecting an affordable laptop. You really need to head down to your local electronics store and check them out. They are awesome!

Why Netbooks Are Suitable For Students?

by Michael Tan

Netbooks are everywhere, on buses, on trains, on planes... and in the classroom. It seems the little netbook has come out of nowhere to become extremely popular overnight.

What is a netbook actually?

Netbook is the smaller version of a laptop, typically built with a 10-inch screen or smaller. Most of these computers run Windows or Linux and usually priced below $500. It was originally built so people will be connected to the Internet wherever they maybe.

Asustek started it all with the Eee PC that was launched fall of 2007. It was a big hit so many of the major brands also made their own netbook line. The netbook sales is growing so fast and it is expected to reach 139 million units in 2013.

Portability is the key for the success of the netbook. People would always want a device that they can easily bring along all day so they can have Internet access anywhere. Many of us would always want to keep in touch with love ones and the Internet has become a primary medium for this, and in return it makes netbooks popular.

The next question you have to ask: why do netbooks make for great student laptops? If the above reasons aren't enough, try the following:

Size - Netbooks are small with 10 inch displays or less, which make them ideal for students. Plus, they are usually very lightweight - around 2 or 3 pounds. They are compact enough to tuck into your school bag or backpack, and small enough to carry around all day without developing a hernia.

Portability - Netbooks are so small and handy you can bring it along all the time with no hassle, and this means you can connect to the Internet anywhere.

Sturdiness - Almost all netbooks are designed to be tough. As we all know students are mostly careless when it comes to their school stuff. Having a netbook would be perfect since it can withstand more pressure than those regular laptops.

Battery Life - The smaller form factor especially the small screen makes the netbook a real power-saver. It is perfect for students that will be in the campus all day with no time to charge their battery.

Performance - Although small, these mini-laptops still sports some very impressive specs. Many now come with at least 1 Gig of RAM and Intel Atom processors. There are even some with Solid State Hard Drives which make them more durable and less likely to be damaged. Most use Windows XP - newer models debuting this year with the Nvidia's Ion platform may have Vista or Windows 7, but still don't expect the kind of performance you would get from a regular laptop.

Storage - While storage on netbooks is constantly increasing, it is still nowhere near the kind of storage you will find on a regular sized laptop. Usually, most devices have around 30 or 60 Gig hard drives which should be adequate for most student's needs. Many newer netbooks have 160 Gigs of storage.

Price - This will be one of the biggest reasons why students go for netbooks. Students are usually in a tight budget and the $300 to $500 price range will be great for them.

As you can plainly see, the netbook does have many features to make it a perfect student laptop: small size, very portable, excellent connections, very sturdy, long battery life, good performance, adequate storage and most of all, a very affordable price almost any student can take advantage of. Overall, netbooks are well suited for the classroom and the student.

How Can Reviews Help Me Make The Best Decision When Purchasing a Laptop?

by Jordan McPelt

In today's fast-paced, technology-driven environment, it is almost a necessity to own a laptop. Whether you are a student in college or a business person, laptops allow you to work quickly and easily while on the move. Dell is one of the leaders in the netbook industry and they make these portable netbooks in two product lines, Inspiron and Latitude. Dell Inspiron are more consumer oriented and offer the latest in features at the best possible price, which is important in today's economy. Latitude netbooks are geared more toward the business industry and they are considered more reliable and stable.

Dell's newest model of netbook only confirms that the gap between the ultraportable laptop, those laptops which are ultra light, and netbooks is certainly shrinking. The Dell Inspiron Mini 12, while still a netbook, is the only one of its kind with a 12 inch screen, which makes it perfect for those that need to multi-task. Even more enticing is the weight of this netbook, which is comparable to that of 10-inch netbooks. On the same note, the Dell Inspiron 1525 improves on its predecessor by shaving off ounces and inches and adding worthwhile new features.

Not only are Dell netbooks portable, powerful and reliable, they also garner several distinct awards every year. For example, the Dell Studio 15 was voted the #1 Most Popular Laptop while the Dell Inspiron Mini9 laptops received several different awards, including Design Award China 2008 from the International Forum of Design, the Top Laptop Pick for the Holidays from CNET, one of the five Can't Live Without Gadgets from Women's Health and the Best Invention of 2008 from Time Magazine. On the business side, the Dell Latitude E6400 received some awards as well, including the Recommended Award from both PC Pro, UK and TrustedReviews, UK.

Overall, if you are in the market for a netbook, whether it be for a student in your family, or even for yourself for business reasons, then the very first thing you should do is research on the different laptops there currently are on the market, and which of them would best suit your needs.

Dell laptops have consistently garnered positive reviews from top technology sites, as well as several different awards, both on the personal sector as well as from businesses. Technology is constantly shifting and changing and you want to go with a company with a proven track record of keeping up.

The range of Acer laptops is extensive and consequently offers a wide choice for both businesses and individuals. With an impressive record of quality along with their stylish appearance Acer deserve the strong reputation they have for their laptops, which they have been proud of for over three decades.

Acer laptops are lightweight so they are perfect for both the executive who travels, educators who change from one room to another, or students who move information from one site to another. They come loaded with either a Windows Vista or Windows XP operating system that provides outstanding quality and maneuverability.

Acer offer unique laptop features, which can't be found anywhere else. A common problem with laptops is their durability when used often whilst travelling. From my experience the outer casing of laptops can come away, providing the need for an expensive repair. If you travel frequently the Acer Ferrari series may meet your needs as they are made with a tough outer casing.

Acer boast a special interface that gives users one click control over many features. Acer eRecovery Management provides a simple way to back up or restore data while Acer eLock Management gives secure password protection for locking away information. The ability to encrypt and decrypt information, provide successful presentations along with a well optimised battery life are just a few of the features Acer provide with their laptops. Then the Acer ePresentation Manager takes over and leaved you to deliver your presentation without any technical worries.

The technology that Acer laptops are equipped with are second to none. As a result they are a great option for professional/ business users. However, due to ease of use, they are also a good choice for individuals with basic knowledge, whether their primary needs are that of business or leisure. Laptops with HD functionality along with Blu-ray compatibility ensure Acer offer laptops that are as desirable as any on the market.

Even the best laptop in the world boasting the most features with the best ease of use is no good if it is broke. It is clear that reliability is arguably the most important aspect of any digital product, including laptops. Acer continuously perform various tests to maximise the reliability of their laptops through even the most server misuse such as dropping and spillages.

It has been suggested by reviewers that Acer offer laptops with the best value for money on the market. Acer prorvide special features that cannot be found elsewhere, which have gained awards across the world, increasing awareness of their brand and trust with consumers. Whether you are in the market for a cheap laptop or a laptop with the latest technology Acer have proved they are a brand worth looking into.
